MERLOT ROSE ARMATHOS

Cultivation area: Arma Thebes 

Altitude: 250 meters 

Soil composition: The soil is rich in calcium carbonate, rich in potassium and moderately alkaline. 

Cultivation: 15 acres – organic farming 

Yield per hectare: 600 kg/hectare 

Variety: Merlot 

Wining: Saignée method. During the first hours of winemaking, part of the grape juice is separated and put into a new stainless steel tank to become rosé. 

Aging Potential: 2-3 years 

Organoleptic Characteristics: Relatively exuberant rosé in color, like a ripe strawberry, it gives intense aromas of small black fruits, wild cherry, berry and toffee. On the palate  it is rich with mild acidity, oiliness and a pleasant aftertaste of ripe fruits. 

Food Pairing: Served at 8-12°C and goes well with white meats, seafood meze or oily fish. Ideal for Mediterranean cuisine dishes where olive oil is prevalent.
